Job Description : POSITION OBJECTIVE:
The position of Registrar Level II is done for the purposes of enrolling/withdrawing students and participating in the class scheduling system. This position is responsible for ensuring official District records, including transcripts, are maintained as required by law.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
Enrolls new students to the school including but not limited to establishing residency, verifying all enrollment paperwork is complete, ensuring accuracy when entering data into the Student Information System and requesting student records.
Maintains confidentiality of information protected by District policy and State and Federal laws.
Withdrawal of students from the school as needed.
Interprets, reviews, and inputs student course history, international and domestic, to document progress toward graduation and create the official BSD transcript.
Is self-sufficient with new technology and systems and transfers knowledge from one situation to another.
Participates in and reports on audits (enrollment, transcripts, records, etc.).
Participates as a team member in the development, administration and maintenance of the District’s class scheduling system (master schedules).
Maintains student permanent records and cumulative files. Ensures only appropriate records are forwarded to District Records Department following graduation or withdrawal from the District.
Provides a high level of service when working with internal and external customers.
Supports the school in the processing of report cards.
Produces student lists and reports for school staff.
Other duties as assigned.
District Level:
Focused on drop-out prevention and re-engagement of high school students who have left the school environment.
Primarily works with students pursuing alternative pathways toward graduation and credit recovery.
Other duties as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
School based registrars report directly to and are supervised by building administration with support from Student Placement.
District based registrars report directly to and are supervised by the Supervisor of Enrollment and Registration.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
Required:
A high school diploma or an equivalent education.
Preferred:
Work experience in a school.
Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
Allowable Substitutions:
May substitute experience for the above.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
Valid first aid and CPR certificate, if assists in health clinic.
KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
Must be able to think independently when faced with new situations and demonstrate the ability to transfer knowledge from one situation to another.
Must be able to use MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
Intermediate working knowledge of Excel and the functions available in the program.
Understands basic practices of data management.
Possesses working knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time.
Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
AISP pay range F (starting at $ 31.29 per hour) 40 hours per week for a 260-day annual assignment. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement that requires a membership or representation fee as an ongoing condition of continued employment after an individual is hired. Benefits include retirement, medical, dental, vacation, holidays, and other benefits according to Board policy.
