Job Description : FLSA Status: Exempt Department: S&R ManagementShift: 2nd ShiftSchedule: Sunday through ThursdayMonday- Thursday: 3:30pm until work has been completed Sunday: 8am – 5pmSUMMARY: Direct and coordinate the daily activities of the Shipping and Receiving operations which includes supervision of department staff and the receiving, shipping, storage, distribution, systems administration, and inventory of company product.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate the scheduling of department personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to receive and distribute product/materials in a productive and cost-efficient mannerManages dock and verifies all inbound and outbound shipmentsEnsure the accuracy of shipments of all customer orders and the timely distribution of orders maximize customer serviceVerify incoming and outgoing orders against appropriate documentsTrains personnel on procedures and ensures employees assigned to operate lift equipment is properly trained and licensed.Maintain safety program in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within regulations of all OSHA, local and state lawsResponsible for monthly inventory counts and end of year inventory auditsTroubleshoot system issuesCommunicate with production on materials neededAccountable for the compliance, verification, and implementation of the following responsibilities; food safety and regulatory requirements, quality systems, and product specification.Flexible to working long hours and weekends as necessaryINBOUND: Oversee inbound shipments of Raw MaterialTrouble shoot system issues with receiving productCheck inbound shipments for OS&D – file claims with vendors if neededManage inventory / capacityComplete Receiving paperwork, submit dailyOUTBOUND: Set up outbound orders dailyCoordinate with Dallas on trucks and quantities shipping outManage inventory – shipping in rotation, orders, coordinate with production on product needed for shipmentsVerify order accuracySet up trucks and shipments for off-site storageComplete outbound paperwork, submit dailySUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Exercise the usual authority of a supervisor in relation to hiring, training, performance management, merit recommendation and terminationsResponsible for managing employee hours and approving weekly time for non-exempt personnelEnsures that Company policies and procedures are followedIMPORTANT SUPERVISOR QUALITIESEffective CommunicationLeadershipEmpathy and CompassionConflict ResolutionAbility to DelegateProblem SolvingTime and Priority ManagementConfidentialityEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: BS/BA; or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrevious experience in logistics and/or shipping and warehouse departments with progressive responsibilitiesCOMPUTER/SOFTWARE AND TRAINING: Working knowledge on computer operations and software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe)Warehouse equipment i.e. Forklift, Stand-up Lifts, Pallet JackPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.FunctionAmount of TimeNoneUnder 1/31/3 to 2/3Over 2/3StandXWalkXSitXUse hands to finger, handle or feelXReach with hands and armsXClimb or balanceXStoop, kneel, crouch or crawlXThis job requires that weight be lifted or force be exerted as reflected below.FunctionAmount of TimeNoneUnder 1/31/3 to 2/3Over 2/3Up to 10 poundsXUp to 25 poundsXUp to 50 poundsXUp to 100 poundsXMore than 100 poundsXWORK ENVIRONMENT: Cold Temperature: < 40 F Cooler < 0 F FreezerWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and extreme cold temperature.
