We are proud of our history, our reputation and we look forward to the future as we help build Hawaii.SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONUnder the direction of Senior Technicians; responsible for performing Fire Alarm installation, programming, testing, service & repairs. – Maui & Oahu LocationsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist with the installation of fire alarm systems to include; wire pull, device terminations; troubleshooting; and testingPrepare for fire alarm installations by gathering equipment, supplies, and toolsAssist with performing annual, semi-annual and quarterly fire alarm inspectionsBe an integral part to the expansion of the Fire Protection Division at DDL.Perform other duties and tasks as requested by management.Support and participate in the company safety programComply with all safety rules, policies and standardsPromptness to work, meetings, and scheduled events/trainingsJob Requirements Understanding of basic electrical circuits and fundamental theories like Ohms LawUnderstanding of basic electronic test equipment with the Ability to use and understand readings on a digital multi-meterWorking understanding of computersAbility to lift up to 50lbs and climb laddersSKILLS & ABILITIES: A high energy, team-oriented, quality-driven individual; with a high desire to learn the Fire Alarm industry. Must have excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills. Ability to independently supervise multiple projects at the same time and to work in a dynamic and high-pressure environment. Must be able to work cooperatively and maintain a positive and professional manner. Must maintain strict confidentiality in performance of all duties.EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND: 1 – 3 years working with electronics performing installations or testing.Previous fire alarm or low voltage system experience a plus.Experience with construction safety standards and working on new/retrofit construction projects.EDUCATION: High school Diploma RequiredFormal Electronics TrainingGraduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program oGraduation from an accredited Electronics TechnicianMilitary Electronics Training programKNOWLEDGE OF SOFTWARE REQUIRED: Microsoft Windows Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)This job description may not comprise all duties, responsibilities or skills that may be required to be performed.
