ABOUT THE POSITION
The Area Operations Manager is responsible for the overall profitability and operation of the assigned area’s locations and for business development with that area’s customer base. A description of the duties includes:
Manages the overall grain and agronomy operations of the area’s locations in accordance with the Company policies and procedures;
Responsible for generating sales and increasing profits at the locations;
Manages location’s products and services including stocking, inventory (inventory control), reconciling inventory, merchandising, advertising, billing and receipt of payment;
Submits accurate location reports in a timely manner;
Provides leadership, training and supervision to the locations’ employees;
Ensures maintenance, organization and cleanliness of department buildings, equipment and grounds;
Responsible for emergency coordination in accordance with company policy and procedure, in the event of an accident or disaster;
Represents the Company at local community activities as needed;
Prepares and presents safety meetings for locations;
Provides excellent customer service by managing difficult or emotional situations; responding promptly to customer needs, resolving questions, complaints and concerns immediately and meeting commitments;
Effectively communicates by verbal and written means with customers, employees and management;
Maintains and promotes safety awareness; follows safety policies, procedures and reporting requirements;
Present a clean and professional appearance;
Employee is required to perform all other duties as directed by the supervisor.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
Basic computer operation skills
Supervisory experience preferred;
Valid driver’s license;
Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The general compensation range for this position is $80,000 – $100,000 per year depending on experience.
Skyland Grain full time employees are eligible for the profit sharing bonus plan.
