Job Description : Position Available: Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator Classification: Regular, Non-ExemptSalary: $32.74 per hourClosing Date: March 29, 2022 – 5:00PMThis is a forty (40) hour per week position. Summary: The Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator serves as an integral team member responsible for outreach, partner collaboration, community engagement, and strategic support for the development, implementation, and execution ofWorkForce Central’s community engagement strategy. This position will interact with the community, build, and support community-based coalitions, and foster partnerships. In addition, the incumbent must be willing to advance their knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Title I programming, and operate within the Continuous Quality Improvement(CQI) culture that WorkForce Central has adopted. This position must also demonstrate a strong commitment to building equitable systems; commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression as a core part of our organizational culture; knowledge of equity policy; shows respect and sensitivity to cultural differences; educates others on the value of diversity; promotes a harassment-free environment; and builds a diverse workforce.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of the position:Serves as a liaison between partners, stakeholders, and schools to ensure that all community members understand how to contact and communicate with the providers in a manner that bridges the gap between community, service providers, and educators.Assist in designing strategies to build community partnerships.Represent WorkForce Central in community initiatives and at events that support our brand goals/strategies.Participate in monitoring the success of community engagement strategies and outcomes and recommend course corrections as appropriate.Assist with social media and video content, help requests, and participate in website information collaboration.Skills in Zoom, Outlook Team Meeting, GoToMeeting, and other online meeting platforms.Serve as an integral member of the Pierce County Community Engagement Taskforce and provide strategic support.Assist in creating strategies of potential program opportunities as they arise.Assist community leaders to collaborate with external services to create a higher level of customer experience.Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships to ensure key successes in WorkForce Central’s community engagement efforts.Positively foster collaborative relationships with community residents, local nonprofit organizations, businesses, faith- based organizations, and student organizations.Encourage civic engagement to strengthen neighborhoods where neighbors want to invest their time and resources to transform their communities.Participate in piloting and implementing new approaches that improve and expand WorkForce Central’s mission and work.Work in a collaborative manner, focused on achieving overall agency performance and excellence.Build authentic relationships in the service of enhancing individual and team performance to support our work.Other duties as needed.Qualifications and Experience: Language Skills – Ability to compose reports, business correspondence and specialized reporting materials. Should be able to effectively present information and respond to questions.Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, research data, analyzes facts, prioritize tasks, set goals, and prepare reports. Should be able to understand, interpret and communicate a variety of instructions and program guidelines.Interpersonal Skills – Strong interpersonal communication skills, good organization and flexibility, work independently, have good judgment and be willing to take initiative, detail oriented, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and work as part of a team. Must be comfortable working with the public.Computer Skills – To perform this classification an individual should have advanced knowledge of software applicable to the specific job duties that may include Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Adobe.Experience – Relevant experience and/or education that endorses the candidate’s ability to complete the required tasks.Organizational Competencies: Make good decisions and respond effectively to challenges.Provide superior service to stakeholders, both internal and external.Listen to others and communicate in an effective manner.Independently assess issues and initiate solutions.Ability to work well with others and thrive in a team environment.Show respect and sensitivity to cultural differences; educates others on the value of diversity.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be required by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this classification.
