As the region’s largest hunger relief charity, the Food Bank offers a diverse and inclusive workplace, professional development opportunities, and a culture of promoting from within.Reporting to the Community Engagement Director, the Community Engagement Manager position oversees the Food Bank’s fundraising events and partnerships as well as some emerging and new fundraising channels. The Community Engagement Manager is personally responsible for a portfolio of key events. And through supervision of two direct reports this position also ensures the success of various other third party events, the Austin Restaurant Weeks signature event, contract fundraising “street teams,” peer-to-peer campaigns including Amplify Austin and JustGiving fundraisers, cause marketing campaigns with national and local brands including grocery partners, and community food drives.The Community Engagement Manager works closely with the Community Engagement Director to secure, steward and maintain donors in these areas to meet budgeted income goals. The position develops a comprehensive strategy from year to year to maximize return on investment and ensure all fundraising targets and community partnership goals are met.This position will primarily work remotely in the Central Texas region. Occasional in-person event work is required, as permitted by the Food Bank’s and our partners’ COVID policies. People who have experienced food insecurity or economic hardship and those from backgrounds underrepresented in nonprofit management are encouraged to apply.As a community Events Manager you will:Coordinate, cultivate, renew and strategically grow a portfolio of key third-party fundraising events and partnerships benefiting the Food BankDevelop and maintain strategic plans, policies, procedures, budgets and growth metrics relating to all CTFB events and partnerships.Oversee and grow the Food Bank’s pilot peer-to-peer text message fundraising program – design, execute and evaluate text fundraising campaigns and act as both administrator and agent in the text fundraising platformSupervise the Community Engagement Specialist and help them meet individual workplan goals in work areas including peer-to-peer fundraising, Austin Restaurant Weeks and national cause marketing brand partnershipsSupervise the Community Engagement Coordinator and help them meet individual workplan goals in work areas including mid-level third party events, food drives, “street team” fundraising events, and local cause marketing brand partnershipsUse fundraising database and peer-to-peer fundraising platform to enter, maintain, analyze and report on event and partnership dataRepresent the Food Bank to the public, including tours and presentations to employee groups, service organizations, faith based groups, and media interviews as neededWork across departments to develop a 360-degree engagement cycle for community event hosts and donorsYou are a great candidate if you have:Non-profit fundraising experience, including success in budgeting and forecasting, and a history of meeting revenue targetsPrior experience managing staff and collaborating across teams to achieve objectives.Motivation to see a high return on investment in everything you do professionally, from the organization you work for to the way you plan your dayA desire to be a connector for the generous individuals, groups, companies and organizations involved with the Food Bank’s mission – attentiveness to community partners’ interests and motivations as well as the ability to diplomatically communicate the Food Bank’s requirements and needs so that events and partnerships can be as impactful as possibleOutstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to organize and manage multiple projects, setting priorities and working independently under aggressive timelinesCreative problem solving skills and ability to learn quickly and adapt to shifting constraints and requirementsGood judgment and discretion, strong ethical character, ability to preserve donor confidentialityExperience with Microsoft Office suite including strong skills in Microsoft word and ExcelEnthusiasm about working a flexible schedule. This position works 40 hrs/week, and some hours may take place on evenings and weekends when necessary to meet organizational goals.
