About this position:
The Community Engagement Manager is a member of the Equity team and is responsible for ensuring that Planned Parenthood Great Northwest, Hawai’i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky (PPGNHAIK) is advancing leading-edge community engagement rooted in racial justice and equity principles.
The Community Engagement Manager works in collaboration with the Equity team and stakeholders within PPGNHAIK and in communities to: Inform the creation and implementation of key policies, practices, and procedures that advance community engagement rooted in racial justice and equity principles. Ensure that PPGNHAIK’s Volunteer Program is rooted in racial justice and equity principles and reflects membership from diverse communities, including communities most impacted by health inequities. Guide the design, implementation, and evaluation of leading-edge community engagement strategies to advance initiatives led by the Equity team.

This position is based out of any of the six states within PPGNHAIK’s geography – Washington, Idaho, Hawai’i, Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky. Ability to travel to various PPGNHAIK affiliates and community partner locations where stakeholders and volunteers reside.

What you’ll be doing:

Collaborates with the Equity team, PPGNHAIK leaders, and community partners to ensure the successful creation and implementation of key policies, practices, and procedures that advance community engagement that is rooted in racial justice and equity.
Provides strategy and consultation to internal and external stakeholders on community engagement, racial justice, and equity.
Cultivates relationships with key stakeholders – internally and externally – to advance the community engagement, racial justice, and equity initiatives.
Manages the Volunteer Program, an essential community engagement strategy for PPGNHAIK, including recruitment, onboarding, training, capacity-building, and connection between volunteers and PPGNHAIK.

You’ll need to have:

Degree in social sciences or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Designing, implementing, and evaluating community engagement, racial justice, and equity initiatives.
Building meaningful relationships with people and communities with an array of different experiences and approaches to community engagement, racial justice, and equity.
Managing programs in a highly matrixed organization where vision, creativity, relationships, and self motivation are key drivers for success.
Training and building capacity for racial justice and equity-rooted work. Strategy development and systems-change work that advances racial justice and equity.
