Overall Purpose: The Specialist, Customer Affordability and Innovation is responsible for supporting all Affordability and Innovation initiatives within the Customer organization. The Specialist supports two functional teams: Affordability and Innovation Management (AIM) and Customer Service (CS). The Specialist will coordinate and collaborate with business owners to ensure all programs and initiatives are aligned with strategic business objectives and support achievement of targeted performance goals.
General Job Duties:
Support the communication of a common language across the organization as it relates to Affordability and Innovation Management
Work with business owners to integrate, understand, and champion AIM ideas
Facilitate and own project management of initiatives within their respective organizations and across the program
Own and coordinate risk, issue, resource, quality, and financial management across Customer Service AIM initiatives
Align savings projections across initiatives, coordinating closely with the CS Financial Analyst to align AIM efforts to the CS budget
Facilitate training and ideation session as required in support of the AIM office and its methodologies
Provide AIM updates to the CS organization through multiple mediums including: staff/leader meetings, emails, and other correspondence
Support the CS office in preparation for all executive committee and Board of Director meetings:
Develop documentation (ensuring accuracy of submissions)
Coordinate information across CS organization
Drive adherence to meeting all requirements and timelines
Support the Customer Service prioritization efforts with IT:
Ensure the requirements of the CS department are represented
Coordinate with the CS leaders to gather collective feedback/input
Review that all business cases meet defined requirements (as defined by the business unit and the AIM organization)
Own benchmarking efforts in Customer Service (including EEI and other engagements initiated by CS)
Lead special assignments and other ad hoc efforts as designated by the Director of Customer Affordability and Innovation
This position will report directly to the Director of Customer Affordability and Innovation.
Qualifications:
Required-
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. With < 7+ years of relevant experience. Certifications are often required.
Highly driven, self-motivated and enthusiastic individual, capable of motivating others toward change and positive improvement
Proven ability to make accurate decisions and use sound judgment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate complex information in simple, concise terms that others will understand
Strong computer skills and information system knowledge
Preferred-
Education – Graduate degree in technical/related field
Industry-specific, electric utility work experience
Physical Requirements-
Normal office environment, the position that may require long hours
Travel within the Duquesne Light footprint is required, minimal travel may be required outside the footprint for industry-related activities
The position is considered occasionally on-site, meaning this position will primarily work remotely and report to the office occasionally for company and department reasons. The position is not 100% remote. “Examples of company reasons” for in-person reporting include all-employee meetings and employee performance reviews. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
