Job Description : DescriptionFacilitates the work of the Office of Communication and Engagement by brainstorming, strategizing, creating and implementing effective and engaging content for social media, website, email, digital applications and marketing. Position is responsible for strategy recommendations, administration, development, and daily management of the organization’s online marketing, website, social media initiatives as well as PIO and community engagement support. The salary range for this position is $53,300 $82,700 per year with a hiring range of $53,300 – $68,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Position will close to applicants on: Monday, March 21, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. M.S.T.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Serves as lead administrator for our Let’s Talk Loveland public engagement platform, including coordinating with departments and divisions in the City organization and with the City’s contractor, in training employees, constructing posts, surveys, creating engagement strategies and monitoring results to further community and organizational goals.Serves as City’s primary social media subject matter expert and administrator, staying on top of trends in information sharing and engagement to continue growing the City’s social media presence and engagement opportunities with the public including campaign ideas, content strategy, new products and services based on market research and benchmarking.Responsible for recommendations on strategy as well as administration and creation of all social media plans and content for the organization, including the main platforms of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Nextdoor.Responsible for creating and administering high-impact social media and digital campaigns based on City communication and engagement goals.Leads Citywide Social Media Moderators Group as part of Communications Steering Committee, developing trainings, policies, guides, and maintaining consistency in messaging and adherence to City social media policies and procedures.Responsible for online community engagement and connections, social listening and responding to online audiences.Leads content and design for City website including responding to departmental requests, adding images and documents, editing page content, problem-resolution, ensuring best practices for effective information delivery and contract management with the vendor. Position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining city pages without a dedicated website user and monitoring web data and Google Analytics to maximize customer engagement.Lead for annual website content management system (CMS) training and web content ADA compliance, including the development and implementation of employee training.Interacts with City staff on a regular basis to gather, draft, review and release information to the public through the division’s various communication channels.Responsible for measuring success of City website, engagement opportunities, social media programs and campaigns to align with larger Citywide communications and engagement goals.Works collaboratively to create and implement citywide communications for marketing, public relations and engagement campaigns, and branding efforts.Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to develop marketing for city initiatives, programs, facilities, special events, classes, etc.Works alongside communications team to create and implement graphic design and creative content for effective communication across digital and print platforms.Assist in ensuring compliance with logo and branding management, this includes compliance with applicable policies and procedures.Administers the City’s email and enewsletter subscription system and trains users.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS: Serve as backup to the City’s Engagement Coordinator/Public Information Officer.Coordinates meetings, maintains meeting records and minutes.Maintains records of city media releases, website and social media publishers.Assists with communication research and marketing strategy.Engage in emergency communication planning with the Engagement Coordinator and Loveland’s Emergency Manager.Supports Office of Communication and Engagement efforts to engage with the community through events and in-person functions.Serve as back up for the front desk of the City Manager’s Office greeting visitors, answering phones, and providing other front desk operations support as needed.JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, skills and abilities: Excellent and diverse writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills. Requires excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with diverse groups.Knowledge of website and social analytics tools. Must be able to gather media and archive materials for records purposes and future use.Creative and innovative thinker, tech-savvy with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, HTML, content management systems, and any software commonly used for creating marketing material and social content.Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees across the city, representatives of other agencies and organizations, and members of the communityRequires creativity and strong customer relation skills.Must be able to consistently prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment, and to work independently. Ability to coordinate and organize numerous projects simultaneously.Must be capable of discerning when confidentiality ability and maintaining confidentiality.Must work well under pressure with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Three (3) years’ work experience in in digital media must be in addition to any experience used to satisfy the education requirement.Three (3) years of progressively responsible digital media and marketing with an emphasis on writing, design and demonstrated familiarty with modern media platforms including social media channels required. Two years (2) project management experience and demonstrated experience in the use of InDesign, PhotoShop, Canva and/or other publication software applications used in producing high-quality publications required.Licensure and/or certifications: n/aMaterial and equipment directly used: Telephone, personal computer, copier, fax, other standard office machines, software applications necessary for completion of essential job functionsWorking conditions and physical requirements: Many days will be typical office environment, which requires some bending and kneeling, sitting for extended periods of time, reaching and repetitive keyboard motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to travel within the City of Loveland and adjacent areas for engagement work. Employee will need to be able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed to perform essential job functions. Seasonal work may be performed indoors or outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
