Position : EL EDUCATION PROGRAM SPECIALIST
Job Description : Responsible for the review and approval of Title III grants and English Learner (EL) funding including the review and support of Local Education Agency (LEA) Integrated Action Plans and alignment of funding applicationsWork collaboratively with team members to provide technical assistance, monitor, provide feedback, and professional learning to LEAs and Charters in federal and state requirements, evidence-based practices, and procedures for EL programsLocal, in-state, and out-of-state travel may be required
Job Duties:
Work with LEAs throughout the Title III and Structured English Immersion (SEI) Budget grant approval process, providing feedback and eliciting more information, providing guidance, and making determinations about approvability of requested budget items and LEA planComplete statewide evaluation and monitoring of state and federally funded programsPrepare program-specific technical and administrative reportsProvide appropriate feedback and ongoing technical assistance to LEAsSupport LEAs in implementing state and federal authorizing legislation, all program guidance and regulationsDesign, develop, and provide professional development on EL funding to support with the implementation of Arizona’s Language Development Approach (LDA), English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and SEI model; professional development will be provided in a variety of delivery methods including face to face, webinars and on-line coursesAttend departmental, divisional, and team meetings, and be prepared to receive and present information that is tied to program-specific activities, statistical data being generated, budgeting, agency-wide strategic planning, departmental policies and procedures, and the delivery of technical assistance to LEAsServe on task forces and committees and complete special assignments, as requestedWork with other divisions with ADE, helping to coordinate their activities with those of Unique Populations, as well as applicable state plans

A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field is required

Position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.).

Retirement:
