Job Description : The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is recruiting for a Fish and Game Program Technician located in Douglas!
What you will be doing:
The Department of Fish and Game, Division of Commercial Fisheries is seeking a full time non-permanent Fish and Game Program Technician located in the Douglas Area Office. This position will be responsible for the daily operation of the Southeast Region Commercial Fisheries Information front desk. Primary duties include communicating fisheries information to the public, assisting with fishery registrations and commercial fishery logbooks, and assisting with commercial seafood processing data rescue efforts.

The working conditions you can expect:
This position is primarily located in the ADF&G Douglas Area Office and may require occasional travel to the ADF&G Headquarters office in Juneau and ADF&G warehouses. The work environment is dynamic and mainly includes working at a desk/cubicle in an office setting. Daily work involves communicating with commercial, subsistence, and personal use permit holders, the public, and Fish and Game staff throughout the Southeast Region. This position works closely with their supervisor and Information Services staff to help provide guidance to fishery participants and to assist with commercial seafood processing data rescue efforts.

Minimum Qualifications
Two years of office clerical experience or technical experience related to fish, wildlife or habitat resources;
OR
One year of experience providing advanced clerical services based on established procedures, precedents, and policies in administrative, informative, and/or programmatic functions. This experience includes work such as an Office Assistant 2 with the State of Alaska, or the equivalent elsewhere.

Substitution:
Postsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (3 semester or 4 quarter hours equal one month of experience).
