Job Description : Food Service DirectorAt Hopkins Center our employees are family. Our ideal candidate will be an initiative-taker with stellar communication skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Strong Leadership and analytical skills are mandatory for this position. Food Service Director must be experienced managing a food service team along with exceptional client relations and customer satisfaction skillsThe essential duties and responsibilities include:Supervise and schedule the Food Services Department staff and ensure all shifts are covered.Monitor food services service personnel to assure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.Ensure all foods prepared by cooks or assistant cooks are prepared on time and according to the posted cycle menus.Ensure all logs posted in Food Services Department are updated daily and in proper order.Schedule and assign staff, prepare department payroll for data entry if required.Reviews menus and supervises the handling, preparation and storage of food.Ensure that food services service work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.Ensure that stock levels of staple or non-staple food, supplies, equipment, etc., are maintained at adequate levels at all times.Assist in the purchasing of food service supplies, equipment, etc., as required.Oversee the cleaning of the kitchen, storage, dining areas, and equipment.Inspects Residents’ trays for consistency with specified menu.Coordinates and plans food preparation activities for special events.REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent3+ years of Food Service experience in Long-Term Care settings is required. ServSafe certification requiredStrong knowledge of large scale & therapeutic food prepSolid leadership and supervisory skillsExcellent communication skillsMust be able to work as a team memberThis key leadership position is responsible for the successful operation of the Food & Nutrition in the Nursing Home and as the Food Service Director you will under general direction plan, direct, coordinate and manage the food service activities and operations including, but not limited to procurement, receiving, storage, preparation, and menu planning.
