Position : Full-time Grant Specialist

Job Description : Overall Responsibility:

HOPE Services is looking to recruit a Grant Specialist who will be responsible to review application information for completeness and determine eligibility for financial assistance the household may be eligible for. The Grant Specialist will enter household information into a secured cloud database, thus data entry skills, excellent customer services skills and quality assurance accuracy are critical. The Grant Specialist will also be responsible for answering incoming phone calls, emails and reviewing incoming information from agency’s online application (ie. Google Form) to determine completeness, program eligibility criteria is met, provide information of other community resources they may be eligible for and manage message delivery as appropriate by phone or email.

Core Functions:

Data Management

Timely entry of program data into web-based database system.
Provide clerical support, including filing and fielding phone calls/emails.
Ensure maintenance of accuracy and timeliness of data.
Maintain documentation of applicant’s progress of eligibility determination in the database as call or email is complete and organized as instructed.

Service Delivery

Utilize a strengths-based approach to deliver services that support the needs of the program.
Work closely with the respective team members to foster and maintain quality agency-wide services.
Work may be required in office or telework at home
Maintain client confidentiality and not shared with the public.

Resource Management:

Identify client needs and provide available community resources they may be eligible for for additional assistance. This may include financial counseling, mediation services with their landlord, food, child care or employment leads.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess the following:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficient computer skills—including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet access.
Proficiency in utilizing web-based information systems and software.
Ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds, including homeless and low-income persons.
Highly organized, with attention to detail.
Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks and complete effectively.
Ability to manage time effectively in order to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with other professionals (including staff, community organizations, and donors), as well as volunteers and consumers (including persons experiencing homelessness, mental health, substance abuse, and incarceration).
Flexibility to work in and implement high levels of detail in a fast-paced environment, utilizing sound judgment and discretion.
Reception to progressive ideas and supervisory directives.
Punctuality and reliable attendance.

Physical Demands

Candidates must display and/or demonstrate ability to:

Considerable concentration.
Constant interruptions.
Moderate sitting, eyestrain.
Climb and/or walk up and down stairs and/or walkways.
Walk and/or standing for up to 30 minutes at a time.
Lift, carry, pull and/or push items up to 30 pounds at a time and for short distances. Such motions may include reasonable bending, stooping, reaching and twisting.

Starting Pay: $18.00/hour
