Job Description : The Millard Sheets Art Center Gallery Assistant will work throughout the duration of the L.A. County Fair. This position will direct and inform visitors who come to see the artwork on display in the gallery.Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Watch over the visitors, staff, and gallery artwork and assets in a courteous and respectful manner; reminding visitors (of all ages) not to touch the artwork or run within the galleriesDirect and inform visitors about the artwork on view in the galleryDirect traffic and way-finding for visitorsProvide excellent customer service and assist visitors by providing directions to various parts of the gallery, answering general questions, etc.Required Skills*The ideal candidate must be able to interact well with others and communicate effectivelyMust be friendly, outgoing, and possess strong customer service skillsDependability, flexibility, and adaptability are absolutely critical skillsMust have the ability to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, exercise good judgement, and work independentlyPhysical Requirements of the Job: Must be able to lift up to 25 poundsMust be able to work in extreme weather, such as heat, cold, or rainMust be able to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidaysMust have reliable transportation to and from workRequired ExperienceJob Type: Temporary
