Job Description : JOB OPPORTUNITY We are looking for a detail-oriented, critical thinker who takes the initiative to solve problems and is an effective communicator to join our growing team!Resumes will be accepted March 16 – March 30, 2022 (end of business day, 5 PM)JOB TITLE: HELP DESK TECHNICIAN CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPTGRADE: GRADE 9 (starting pay $23.10/hr.)DEPARTMENT: INFORMATION SERVICESREPORTS TO: HELPDESK SUPERVISORLOCATION: BRECKSVILLEAbout the Role: The purpose of this position is to provide first-level technical support to employees, members and taxpayers (end users) for issues experienced using Agency information systems and end user devices. This position requires on-call technical support work. The individual in this position must be able to effectively communicate the status of assignments to both management and end users, in addition to skillfully performing the assigned work.About RITA: The Regional Income Tax Agency (“RITA”) is an OPERS employer that offers low monthly premiums for health benefits for employees, spouses and dependents with no monthly cost for dental and vision coverage. Additional benefits include paid vacation and paid sick leave. An additional 3 days of personal time are available each year on the employee’s anniversary of date of hire.Work Environment: You will be assigned to work primarily out of RITA’s Brecksville office, with the opportunity to work a blended schedule, meaning some days in the office, some days working from home. Our dress when in the office is professionally casual – jeans are welcome. We thrive on collaborative work, and we are best as a team with each person doing their part.EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The below listed essential functions occasionally require travel to the Agency’s other office locations. Reliable transportation is required.1. Fields incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner.2. Documents all pertinent information into the helpdesk tracking system, including end user information, all steps taken to resolve the issue, and final resolution.3. Applies diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting as required.4. Tests fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved. Performs post-resolution follow-ups to help requests.5. Accesses software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet, to aid in problem resolutions.6. Identifies and learns appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the Agency.7. Performs hands-on fixes for end user devices, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications according to department standard operating procedures.8. Performs preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals as needed.9. Maintains and follows department standard operating procedures to ensure a secure and reliable deployment of Agency desktops/laptops and software to end users.10. Maintains end user software and hardware asset inventory.11. Performs related work as directed.About You: College diploma or university degree in Computer Science or related field and/or 3 years equivalent work experience. The following knowledge and experience are a plus:Certifications in Microsoft or COMPTIA desktop or networking technologies a plus.Strong working knowledge of basic computer hardware, including Intel or AMD based desktop computer platforms.Experience with Microsoft desktop and web administrator consoles operating systems andMicrosoft based desktop applications.Strong working knowledge of a range of end user devices diagnostic and troubleshooting utilities and practices.How to Apply: Please submit your resume no later than 5 PM on March 30, 2022.
