HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT MHA seeks a Human Resources Assistant to provide support regarding Human Resources (HR) activities, policies, processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will be a conscientious, team player who can successfully multitask in a fast-paced environment. A strong sense of accuracy, diplomacy and discretion is imperative, as this position is constantly exposed to confidential and highly sensitive information. Reports to the HR Director.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Compile, record and maintain data related to HR functions such as recruitment, hiring, personnel files, compensation and benefits administration, leave records, performance reviews, training, and termination; Prepare related reports as requested.Explain company policies, processes and/or procedures to employees or job applicants; Answer questions regarding eligibility, salaries, benefits, and other pertinent information in a timely and accurate fashion.Maintain employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data(addresses, wages, absences, performance reviews, and dates of and reasons for terminations).Participate in recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel (excluding managerial levels and above); Help coordinate the use of temporary employees.Process employment applications; Review and evaluate applicant qualifications or eligibility; Conduct reference checks; Administer pre-employment tests; Process pre-employment background checks and drug screens.Guide newly hired employees through the onboarding process; Guide exiting employees through the termination process.Examine employee files to respond to inquiries; Provide information to authorized persons.An Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D Certified Drug-Free Workplace HR Assistant Provide relevant information for payroll processing (time and attendance records, wage computations, bonuses, deductions, etc.).Create department purchase orders and file invoices.Assist in organizational training and development efforts.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in a business or HR related fieldOne to two years’ experienceExcellent communication skills (verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skillsProficient knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPointREQUIRED LICENSES Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license, proof of personal auto insurance to the minimum defined levels, and a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.Salary Starting range based on experience: $18.70 to $20.13 per hour.
