Job Description : Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Lab AssistantDEPT NAME: Mid Valley PathologyDATE CREATED/REVISED: 11/18/19POSITION SUMMARY(General statement reflecting the overall purpose of the position.)Performs all necessary day to day clerical duties in the Histopathology laboratory and provides training when required. Directly assists histology staff when appropriate and is responsible for outside consults, billing, coding and accessioning all cases for the department. May be asked to cross train with histotechnicians as needed (cytology, cover slipping, dispatching of cases, special procedures etc.) excluding high complexity testing. Reports directly to the General Supervisor, laboratory administrator and medical director.
