Position : Laborer – Grounds Maintenance
Job Description : As a member of the Icy Strait Point maintenance team your duties will include maintenance and upkeep of all projects necessary to keep the entire site operational and looking its very best.Responsibilities:Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic and Profitable (tour destination).Keep safety foremost in your mind and actions at all times when on the job.Ground’s landscaping and maintenance as required.Operation of sewer treatment plant, or willingness to train.Properly and confidently operate shop equipment.Basic carpentry, plumbing and painting on construction and building projects as directed.Operation of forklift.Communicate comfortably with guests and colleagues.Deliver a first-class experience to all guests and visitors.Learn and impart knowledge to guests of all that Icy Strait Point has to offer, including history, tours, food and beverage venues, retail products and venues, what’s available in town, etc.Line-handling training, or willingness to train.Basic Skills and Qualifications:Be at least 18 years of age.Driver’s License preferredWork on your feet most of the day with minimal breakWork outside, in all kinds of weather.Properly use basic hand and power tools.Lift, load, unload, and haul objects.Safely work on roofs, ladders, and other high places.Have or be able to attain First Aid/CPR certification.Willing to submit to pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion of drug and alcohol testing.Able to lift and carry 50 pounds.Miscellaneous:Starting wage DOESkills exceeding the listed basics will result in being hired at a higher level, with higher wages.Application: Apply online at https://apply.coolworks.com/icystraitpoint or in person at the Icy Strait Point office. For questions and further information, contact Human Resources at 907-789-8603.Icy Strait Point is a Native-owned and operated enterprise and offers Native Preference under P.O. 93-638.Bonus’ include:· $500.00 signing bonus paid after 30 days of good standing employment. $500.00 for three months or more of employment, $250.00 for less than three months of employment.· $500.00 training bonus for completion of mandatory pre-employment training. Paid out at completion of training.· $1200.00 End of Season Incentive Bonus. $200/month May to October, paid at the end of the 2022 season, regardless of contract dates.
