Job Description : The librarian is responsible for maintaining the collection, following library policy, and maintaining a high-quality collection of relevant print and electronic educational materials that support their campus’ academic offerings. The librarian will provide the following services: collection development, assistance with research, training on library equipment and services, development and enforcement of library and media policies, and collection maintenance.*Essential Duties And Responsibilities*Management of Media ServicesTraining and Orientation of Faculty and StudentsMaintenance of Media ServicesCollection DevelopmentUtilization Services*Job Responsibilities**Provides circulation services associated with shelving library materials, placing reserves, automated circulation system, collecting and clearing finesEstablish overall policies with respect to library and media services including access, evaluation of materials and equipment, planning and arranging space, etc.Informing and orienting library users of available servicesInspecting materials and equipment for suitability, obsolescence, and damagePurging collection to eliminate unused and out-of-date materialCollection developmentPreview materialsSelect materialsEvaluate materialsAcquire materialsRead evaluative reviews on materialsEvaluate equipmentAcquire equipmentSelect equipmentPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedRequired Qualifications/Competencies: Master’s Degree in Library SciencesFamiliarity with library automation systems and emerging technologies in support of the learning resources conceptAbility to develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, library staff, and faculty.An understanding and commitment to the institution’s philosophyAbility to demonstrate a sensitivity to, and an understanding of, the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the student bodyLocation: 3625 Queen Palm Drive, Tampa, FL 33619Job Type: Full-time
