Job Description : Island School, a private, college preparatory school for students in grade PK – 12 is looking for a Long-Term Substitute 1st Grade Teacher for approximately April 2022 – May 2022.It is expected the successful candidate would:Teach the 1st grade class following overall plans of the current teacherMake classes meaningful and relevant by inspiring studentsCommunicate with students and parents as necessaryMonitor, assess, and give feedback on student learning on a regular basis both formally and informallyIncorporate educational technology throughout instruction and course workPerform additional duties, including but not limited to supervision of lunch/recess, attend faculty meetings, etc.In addition, a candidate should possess the following personal and professional qualifications:Experience working with elementary age studentsAbility to manage students and appropriately correct behaviorStrong collaboration skillsAbility to follow guidance and instruction of teacher as well as plan without supportA sense of humor, warmth of personality, and energyBachelor’s Degree requiredInterested and qualified candidates should reply to this job posting.Island School is an equal opportunity employer.Job Types: Full-time, TemporaryPay: From $150.00 per daySchedule:Monday to FridayCOVID-19 considerations:Mask required by employees and students while on campus.
