Job Description : JOB SUMMARY

The Mailroom Clerk 1 receives incoming mail. Examines, sorts, and distributes mail.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Performs mailroom functions, including accurately sorting incoming mail from shipments, couriers, interoffice locations and postal delivery to designated mail tubs for various departments.
Compiles and maintains accurate information and inventory records of all incoming mail tubs and packages.
Operates and maintains mailroom equipment.
Processes outgoing shipments such as FedEx, UPS, Dynamex, USPS, DHL, Pitney Bowes, and special delivery mail or packages to various destinations.
Provides postage, mail delivery and proper packaging materials and instructions, while meeting constant deadlines.
Handles packages, including verifying all delivered packages are for recipients in the correct location before beginning the receiving process by searching all packages for purchase order and packing slip information before scanning courier tracking bar codes via Lawson RAD handheld.
Verifies that package contents match the packing slip in terms of description and quantity amounts. Notifies supply chain buyer if there are discrepancies of product and quantity. Ensures all packages with purchase order numbers are received into Lawson PO 30. Notifies designated department representative that packages are available for pick up via email. Scans delivery documents with handheld and obtains signature of all packages that are picked up. Operates efficiently to handle time sensitive requests, and delivers of confidential and urgent packages.
Compiles and maintains accurate record of all incoming and outgoing packages. Coordinates routine inspections and repairs on office equipment (i.e. handheld device, box cutter, utility carts, Reptrax and front desk computer, printer, and mail room doors).
Communicates to Supply Chain Services Corporate Coordinator and/or Corporate Director any and all occurrences involving staff or visitors that require attention. Provides accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by customers, ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Answers all incoming calls in a pleasant manner and directing or transferring them appropriately.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION – H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
EXPERIENCE – Less than 1 Year of Experience
