Position : Medical Coder – Part-Time (Remote)
Job Description : Gastroenterology of the Rockies is looking for a part-time, remote, medical coder to work as a 1099 contractor. This position averages 15-25 hours per week. The pay range is $28-32 per hour, depending on skills and experience. GI Coding experience is preferred.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO…
CPC (Certified Professional Coder) with 1-2 years of experience.
Associates degree in Medical Coding or closely related field.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, particularly by telephone.
High level interpersonal skills and dedicated to teamwork and patient satisfaction.
Good Computer skills and ability to access and use multiple data systems, i.e., Microsoft Office and Intergy, as well as various other company related applications
TASKS YOU WILL BE PERFORMING…
Analyzes medical records and abstracts clinical data by assigning codes from patient records in accordance with coding classification systems.
Reviews patient encounters for accurate code assignment of all relevant diagnosis and procedures. Enters appropriate codes into Intergy for the transfer of data to billing files for reimbursement.
Queries physicians when code assignments are not straightforward or documentation in the record is inadequate, ambiguous, or unclear for coding purposes.
Identifies and reports documentation issues and may participate in team education activities.
May collect and prepare data for specialized studies. Serves as a resource concerning clinical coding practice, policies, and procedures.
**This position is a remote 1099 contract**
