Job Description : MEMORY CARE PROGRAM ASSISTANTSProvides personal care to the residents including minimal to maximum assistance with toileting, grooming, and eating. Implements and maintains Southwoods Lodge Premier Signatures of Dining, Life Enrichment and Home Decor. Assists with daily and special activities by obtaining and setting up equipment, leading games and interacting with the residents on an individual basis. Participates with planning, facilitating, and co-facilitating group activities under the direction of the Memory Care Supervisor. Completes charting in daily log and resident’s medical record. Assists in setting up and serving meals and nourishments. Previous experience in a memory care unit preferred. Certified Nursing Assistant certificate a plus. Certification in Alzheimer’s Association CARES Approach with Dementia Related Behavior to be completed with a passing score of 90 within 90 days of hire.Brethren Hillcrest Homes (Hillcrest) is a not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community located on 40+ acres in La Verne, California providing retirement opportunities to seniors that include residential, assisted living, skilled nursing, and dementia care to approximately 400 residents. We help create routine and support them in their daily activities.Qualifications include a Criminal background screening (fingerprinting through the Department of Justice and FBI) completed and free of criminal convictions. Prior experience in a memory care unit helpful. Empathy and preferred experience in working with the cognitively impaired elderly. High school diploma or equivalency. Good communication skills. Certified to administer first aid.Hillcrest offers an extensive benefits package such as vacation, sick, and holiday pay. We offer competitive wages, $17.50 to $118.64 per hour, and a beautiful, modern campus staffed with friendly, helpful staff.**We currently have full-time Program Assistant positions on our 2:45pm to 11:15pm shift. Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate a plus but not necessary.
