Job Description : Major RoleConsistent with the mission, vision and values of Lifeline of Ohio, acts as a subject matter expert for the development and delivery of donation education programs, awareness and outreach throughout Lifeline of Ohio’s service area.Encourages members of our community to save and heal lives by registering as donors, with a concerted effort to educate the youth population. Serves as a liaison to various community groups and stakeholders, ensuring the donation message is shared appropriately and widely. Provides educational programs and outreach to various audiences including students, professional groups and community members. Builds a strong partnership with stakeholders in our community to enhance awareness of Lifeline of Ohio’s mission in the community by providing donation education and outreach.Responsibilities 1. Plans and executes the development of our donation education program and creation of materials in collaboration with community outreach team members that embody Lifeline of Ohio’s mission, purpose, and vision for donation.2. Participates in the delivery of our donation education program and/or materials to all schools (mandated and non- mandated) in our service area.3. Ensures and builds effective, trusting relationships with teachers and key school contacts to encourage meaningful participation in donation education efforts.Conducts routine outreach including mailings, phone calls, emails, and site visits. Develops unique approaches that can capture and focus attention on education initiatives.Attends and/or presents at educator conferences, school administrator meetings, and other events that provide opportunities to build connections and relationships with key contacts.4. Plans and executes the overall framework to track school presentation compliance with the State of Ohio donation education mandate and corporate goals.Maintains a database of health teachers and school administrators to serve as key contacts.Tracks all interactions with schools in compliance with mandate requirements, including mailings, emails, phone calls, and other communications with school representatives; education and events delivered on-site; and teaching materials and handouts provided.Synthesizes and summarizes compliance documentation for benchmarking as required.5. Develops and coordinates educational resources and/or trainings for teachers who want to teach donation education themselves.6. Conducts training for owners and instructors of drivers’ education companies at the request of ODPS to incorporate donation education into their curricula per state mandate.7. Sustains a high-quality of learning delivery by offering evaluations to collect feedback on the delivered program.Uses feedback to enhance program design, delivery and to improve presentation materials.8. Participates in the development and execution of volunteer training.Provides tactful feedback and evaluations that help volunteers improve future presentations.9. Designs and provides educational programs and outreach campaigns to colleges, technical schools, allied medical schools, prisons, companies and community groups.10. Collaborates with OPO colleagues around the state together to work together on education initiatives.Cooperatively develop online lesson plans, videos, tests, and other materials that serve as teaching resources to avoid duplicate effort and to deliver consistent communications to the public.11. Assists the Manager of Community Outreach in the development of the annual education budget.12. Establishes, nurtures and promotes ongoing relationships with volunteers, educational and community contacts as well as stakeholders.13. Engages with, designs and provides education, resources and materials to Bureau of Motor Vehicle Agencies(BMV).14. Leads key projects or initiatives, as designated by the manager of community outreach, to further the mission, vision and values of Lifeline of Ohio.15. Supports the execution of Lifeline of Ohio special events to maximize awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation.16. Performs other duties and completes special projects as assigned.Key Performance Indicators An increase in the number of school presentations provided (for mandated and non-mandated schools) over the previous yearAn increase in the number of community engagement opportunities and/or presentations over the previous yearOutreach to all assigned schools in service area on an annual basisResults of evaluations and feedback from various audiences we serve (educators, community members, etc.)Toolkit and resources available for teachers and educatorsImprovements in donor registration levels in low registration communities, in relationship to the corporate scorecardSuccessfully implements, plans or leads the team in assigned key project areasWorks collaboratively with peers in the OPO communityQualifications Education and Experience:Minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in Education or Communication or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledgeAcademic exposure and/or classroom experience preferredKey Competencies:Builds strong, flexible and collaborative working relationshipsDemonstrates strong verbal and written communication skillsDelivers strong time and task prioritization and executionAble to maintain high levels of integrity and confidentialityDisplays strong presentation and public speaking skillsIs detail-orientedStrong passion and advocacy for donationAbility to coach and mentor others effectivelyProject managementWork Environment Education presentations are typically delivered in classrooms or auditoriums and regularly require standing for class periods with breaks. Office work is typically performed in a standard office setting working at a desk or table on a level surface. Travel is expected within our service area with occasional out of state meetings.
