Job Description : PART-TIME, LIVE-OUT HOUSEKEEPER(2 days per week)PALM BEACH, FLPOSITION SUMMARYThe Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining the 6,000 sq. ft. home in Palm Beach of a busy private family with two young children, a baby on the way, and a beloved pet dog, a labradoodle. This is a part-time live-out position, and the family desires to have a regular two-day-a-week schedule; ideally, Tuesday and Saturdays from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. The Housekeeper’s (HK) priority is to maintain the home’s cleanliness and ensure the spaces are both inviting and comfortable. The HK must always follow health and safety rules and regulations and must be able to work unsupervised. This role requires a self-motivated, trustworthy individual who takes the initiative when tidying and tending to spaces.The successful candidate must have an exceptional eye for detail. They must be experienced working in fine homes and demonstrate skills in all aspects of common household cleaning, laundry, and ironing. The Client prefers someone proactive, attentive, with excellent organizational skills, who takes pride in their work, is dedicated, conscientious, and has an easy-going personality. The candidate must take the initiative, practice professional boundaries, and have the ability to anticipate the needs of the family. The candidate must be honest and possess the highest level of integrity, as these characteristics are of utmost importance to the family. The candidate must be professional but friendly, non-obtrusive, highly trustworthy, and discreet. The expectations for quality service and efficiency are high. Must be dog friendly.Please note the family will not need assistance from July – to Sept 30th, 2022, but there may be an opportunity to assist other extended family members during this time.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIEShousehold & personal services o General Cleaning – Responsible for tidying and regular house cleaning, including bathrooms, kitchen, and food prep areas. Will mop floors, vacuum carpets and rugs, clean and sanitize toilets, showers, baths, sinks, and countertops, change bed linens, make beds, dust and polish all furniture, fixtures, blinds, window ledges, and trim. Duties will also include washing interior windows and mirrors, operating cleaning equipment, cleaning fireplaces, and BBQs, and sweeping decks and garages.o Regular cleaning schedule – Implement and oversee weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly-cleaning program needed to maintain high standards of the home.o Weekly walk-through of the home, including observing items needing repair, cleaning, organizing, or straightening. Ensure yard, pool, and patio are properly organized, swept and pool toys put away.o Operate and maintain cleaning equipment—empty trash bins and recycling, perform detailed, deep cleaning as required.o Laundry — Provide support with laundry when requested. May occasionally be asked to assist with sorting general washing, towels, linens, ironing, and folding laundry when requiredo Organizing— Organizing the family’s belongings when needed (i.e., closets, pantry, kitchen, garage, outdoor area, etc.). Ensure items are always treated with care. Help with packing and unpacking as requested. Stock room drawers and tidy after rooms are used.o Consistency – Ensure all spaces and residences have consistent housekeeping standards and learn the family’s preferences. Create a planner to track tasks and completion dates—complete tasks on time to a high-quality standard within working hours.o Communication – Collaborate and communicate clearly with the family.o Reporting— Report any concerns, repairs, damage, or replacements needed on properties to the principal.o Household Inventories – Monitor and stock pantry and household necessities. Keep an eye on expirations and low stock. Communicate stock purchasing that is needed. Keep track of cleaning supply inventories.o Miscellaneous – Help with any dinner party prep or clean up when needed, Water and care for any plants as directed.QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experienceo A high school diploma or GED certificate and at least two years of experience providing residential housekeeping.o Experience working within a high-service, action-oriented private household environment with high accountability levels.o Excellent working knowledge of cleaning appliances, tools, and cleaning products.o Physical strength and stamina to work for extended hours. Able to lift at least 25 lbs.o Meticulous with refined attention to detail.o Experience in maintaining the confidentiality, safety, security, and privacy of a private family.o Must have their own, reliable transportation.o Highly professional with excellent communication skills.
