Job Description : Northwest Farm Credit Services is in search of a Payment Processing Specialist (internally known as an Operations Specialist) to join our Operations Servicing department in our Spokane Headquarters location. As a member-owned financial cooperative, we help business owners in agriculture, forestry and fisheries secure the financing they need to operate and grow, and the crop insurance they need to protect their livelihoods. Our customers are primarily located in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. This full-time position reports to the Manager-Loan Operations and provides centralized operational and loan accounting support to monitor, analyze and service the association’s loan portfolio.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs analysis and loan accounting for exceptions, reversals, corrections, account closures, manual future payment fund compounding and other maintenance as required.
Reviews monitoring reports and takes appropriate action to ensure loan accounting transactions and daily operations activities are in compliance and control with loan terms, regulations, policies and procedures.
Makes accurate accounting entries for loan fees and costs.
Reconciles daily match report outages and clearing accounts, processing the appropriate accounting entries as necessary.
Provides assistance and excellent customer service to other departments and branch offices.
Reviews exceptions and grants entitlement to association’s online banking customers.
Monitors and reconciles stock for the association’s customers.
Prepares detailed and organized work papers to support daily work and reconcilements.
Participates in various projects as assigned, both within the department and in collaboration with other functional areas.
Performs back-up functions to Funds Management area; professionally communicates with customers who transact on large, complex accounts.
Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to follow internal control procedures to prevent fraud deficiencies, mishandling of funds and monetary transactions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to provide excellent customer service and timely, sound solutions for internal/external requests
Ability to problem solve through effective use of procedures and understanding of systems, reporting, internal controls and loan accounting
