Position : Plant Superintendent
Job Description : The Superintendent is responsible for the overall daily production activities of the cable plant. Primary responsibilities include; scheduling personnel to meet the requirements of the production plan, controlling the labor costs of the respective shifts, ensuring operators run machines as efficiently as possible and within guidelines set by engineering, ensuring scrap goals are met, ensuring overall discipline on the production floor is maintained, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed and then take disciplinary action as required, reviewing daily production levels and taking corrective action as necessary to ensure goals are met, managing the bottleneck, and leading jishu-ken (Kanban systems) efforts.Responsible for communicating and coordinating with other Supervisors, Planning, Engineering, Maintenance and Quality to ensure production demands are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The Superintendent is also required to; ensure overtime is scheduled, manage vacation scheduling, create and distribute lessons learned, develop training and cross-training plans, lead the daily production meetings, ensure the 5S program is followed and ensure TPM is conducted.Leads point of contact for industrial relations issues and business communication. Improves the technical and decision-making capabilities of the shop floor associates. Uses plant data analysis tools for performance metric tracking, reporting, and problem solving. Prepares and delivers daily, weekly, and monthly presentations on plant metrics and project status.Communicates with Human Resources on matters of employee discipline, performance, vacations, attendance, and policy related matters. Recommends staffing levels and interviews job applicants.Responsible for the training of cable manufacturing employees. Must be a good communicator, leader, and motivator. Works with Quality, Maintenance and Safety to ensure compliance with ISO manufacturing and safety requirements.Major Duties and Responsibilitiesv Provide support, guidance, and development for supervisors.v Develop and implement plans that execute the daily production schedulev Hold the organization accountable for hitting daily goals and upholding quality/operational standardsv Ensure all shifts follows requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systemv Ensure the value stream team is trained, resourced, and managed to properly execute process work standards.v Lead continuous improvement activities, engaging employees to improve manufacturing operations.v Lead team problem-solving activities and follow-up with corrective actions for completion.v Ensure close communication and teamwork across all shifts.v Highlight critical issues to the Sr Production Manager.v Assist in defining annual capital and operating budgets.v Assist in defining staffing and planning for current and future manpower needs.v Administration of company policies consistently.Job Qualificationsv Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering.v Previous manufacturing experience.v Track record of implementing lean processes and procedures.v Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization, encouraging diverse ideas and opinions.v Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Applications.v Good time management and prioritization skills.Decision Making Requirementsv Setting direction for the shopfloor to achieve daily performance goals.v Personnel administration decisions based on company policies.v Ensure consistency in job delegation, job placement, performance and discipline.v Manufacturing employees training.v Staffing and manpower level.Job Type: Full-timePay: $80,000.00 – $93,969.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offRelocation assistanceTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:12 hour shiftHolidaysWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Signing bonusCOVID-19 considerations:All associates are required to wear a mask and be prepared to be vaccinatedEducation:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:Manufacturing: 3 years (Required)Shift availability:Day Shift (Preferred)Night Shift (Preferred)Overnight Shift (Preferred)Work Location: One location
