Position : Quarry Operator
Job Description : Overview:
PURPOSE
The Quarry Technician position is a multi-skilled position responsible for the mining operation.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Practice and promote safety in such way as including but not limited to; assessing risks before starting tasks, only performing authorized activities, utilizing appropriate PPE.
Exercise and encourage core values including but not limited to; developing self and coaching others by inspiration and empowerment
Operation of mobile equipment required to mine rock (For example: Rock drills, wheel loaders, bulldozer, haul trucks and water trucks, motor grader, fuel tanker, hydraulic rock breaker)
Perform mechanical maintenance check-outs, troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and do minor preventative maintenance on mobile equipment
Monitor and react to quality issues (For example: sample drill holes, monitor quality feedback information & adjust mining pattern as necessary)
Maintain documentation, plan and organize work, participate in various team activities
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Required Education: High School diploma/GED
Required Experience: 1 year of heavy equipment operating in a heavy manufacturing environment
Position will operate on a two shift basis and incumbents will predominantly work these two shifts
Ideal candidates would have a high mechanical aptitude and experience operating mobile equipment
Ability to work in a team based environment
Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment for at least 1 year preferred
Estimated Wage Range: $26.78 Pay Type: Hourly
