Job Description : At Borealis Basecamp, we are dedicated to providing the best customer service in Alaska to our guests. We are an experiential destination just outside of Fairbanks, where guests from all over the world gather to watch the northern lights and experience Alaska’s beauty. We seek dedicated, friendly, energetic people who enjoy interacting with guests from all over the world to join our team.We are looking for someone who has experience guiding rafting tours. Staff housing is available.Chatanika River: Our guests will be traveling approximately 7.5 miles, at 12 feet/mile elevation loss. We expect this tour to be about 4-5 hours long.*Note: There is a training protocol for each and every tour we offer, and no member of the team is expected to understand how to guide a tour they have not been trained for. *Job Requirements:The ability to hold a conversation with a stranger for several minutes is a crucial part of this position.Must be highly personable and willing to provide great customer service.High school diploma or GED preferred. CPR and Wilderness First Aid certified.Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours a day.Any and all duties as assigned.1 Season of rafting guide experiencehigh level situation awarenessJob Type: Full-timePay: $17.50 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:TipsAbility to commute/relocate:Fairbanks, AK: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Shift availability:Day Shift (Preferred)Work Location: One location
