Job Description : Scheduler
Southwoods Health is currently hiring a Scheduler for a physician office in Poland, OH. This person will be responsible for scheduling all surgical and gastroenterological (GI) procedures.
Responsibilities:
Schedules all procedures to be performed in facility (GI procedures)
Follows scheduling form to obtain all necessary patient demographic, health, and insurance information from physician’s office
Follows procedure for notification of changes in the schedule (e.g., cancellation, rescheduling)
For new patients, assigns medical record number and enters all demographic and insurance information into computer
For repeat patients, makes any necessary changes in demographic or insurance information in computer
Answer and route incoming calls
Check patients out and collect patient co-pays
Update patient information and insurance in chart or EMR
Performs other miscellaneous office/clerical duties as needed
Qualifications:
Required
Training or courses in business office activities
Good typing skills
Good communication skills
Good computer skills
Strong ethical and moral character references
Preferred
Surgery/Procedure scheduling experience
Medical Front Office Experience
