More About the Role:

The Secretary/Administrative Assistant will work under the guidance and in support of various service centers and business lines, providing administrative support to one or more individuals.
Major duties include providing principal secretarial support in an office, usually to one designated individual (Designee), and, in some cases, also to the subordinate staff of the Designee. Maintaining a close and highly responsive relationship with the day-to-day activities of the individual and staff. Working somewhat independently, receiving a minimal amount of technical guidance. Performing varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring knowledge of office routines, and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the work of the office. Handling differing situations, problems, and deviations in the work of the office according to the general guidelines, priorities, duties, policies, and program goals. Using greater judgment and initiative to identify the approach or action to take in non-routine situations. Interpreting and adapts guidelines, including unwritten policies, precedents, and practices, which are not always completely applicable to changing situations. Someone may assist them with special assignments.
Some additional duties may include: Screening telephone calls, visitors, and incoming correspondence; personally responding to requests for information concerning office procedures; Identifying which requests should be handled by appropriate staff member or other offices. Composing correspondence regarding administrative matters and general office policies for Designee’s approval. Services are associated with timekeeping, scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements, processing travel vouchers, managing supply budgets and supply inventory, and associated tasks related to supporting functions of GSA staff. This position will provide administrative support to executive staff with office management responsibilities to include budgeting, personnel records and payroll. This position will also require the ability to create letters and/or memorandum for executive staff review, and preparing materials needed by the Designee for conferences, correspondence, appointments, meetings, telephone calls, etc. May also be responsible for reviewing outgoing materials and correspondence for internal consistency and conformance with Designee’s procedures, as well as assuring proper clearances have been obtained, when needed. May be required to work on projects requiring research and preparation of briefing charts and other presentation materials, graphics and photos. Additionally, may be required to prepare special or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, other offices, etc., under general guidance, and communicating to other administrative personnel in subordinate offices on new procedures, as well as requesting information needed from the subordinate office(s) for periodic or special conferences, reports, inquiries, etc.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Three or more years of recent and relevant experience and good oral and written communication skills are required;
Beginner or Intermediate skill level of Microsoft Office and Windows XP Professional;
Additional required attributes are: good organization skills, works cooperatively and effectively interacts with others including customers and contractors, and good interpersonal skills.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university;
Executive level support experience; and
Experience within one or more Federal agencies, either as a Federal employee or as a contractor.

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $44,900-$89,800. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
