Beautiful specialty gifts featuring delicious, individually wrapped goodies is just one of the things for which Big Island Candies is renowned. But before all the gift-giving, there’s the gift-creating!
We are seeking a Specialty Packaging Dept. Associate for our Celebrations/Specialty Gifts department who will uphold our brand’s reputation for producing high-quality products and delivering high-level customer service. Requirements include: Assisting the team in creating elegant specialty gift items (packing gift boxes; preparing gift baskets); operating shrink-wrap machine and other related equipment; tying ribbons onto gift boxes and baskets to help add that perfect finishing touch.
Additional qualifications and attributes include:
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to stay focused throughout the duration of a project;
Exceptional organizational skills, for example in order to meet deadlines, including ones for special projects with quick turnaround times;
Possessing a meticulous eye for ensuring finished products meet or exceed brand expectations;
Work well independently as well as part of a team; able to adapt quickly to changing priorities;
Ability to read and write basic English; knowledge of basic math.
Physical requirements include:
Frequent standing and walking;
Bending, lifting and stretching, during the creation and assembly of specialty items and baskets;
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.;
Ability to climb a stockroom ladder.
Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., subject to operational changes. Weekends/nights/overtime, subject to peak/seasonal periods and operational needs.
