Position : Student & Family Program Support Manager
Job Description : The Student & Family Program Supports Manager serves on the National ACCEL Online School Operations Team reporting to the VP, Operations for Online Schools. This role collaborates with the members of the Online Schools Operations Team to develop and implement national and school level programming. Additionally, this role provides direct support and consultation to school level Student Services leaders, across the national network of online schools. Areas of focus for this position include:
Student Orientation and Onboarding
Student Engagement Monitoring
Student and Family Engagement Interventions
Parent Support and Training
Student Clubs, Contests, and Social Outings
Student and Family Surveys
School Counseling Services (including creation and maintenance of 504 plans)
Local Family Resources Identification and Connections
School Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
Responsibilities:
Supports school level Student Services Managers, who in turn oversee such school level employees as: Orientation and Onboarding Coaches, Student Success Coaches, Guidance Counselors, and Social Workers, Family Engagement Coordinators
Meets with School level Student Services Managers regularly
Plans and facilitates inter-school Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for school level Student Services staff
Guides schools in creating and implementing identification and intervention plans for non-engaged students
Guides schools in creating and implementing of student onboarding and orientation plans
Creates and delivers training for school Student Services staff on relevant content
Develops methods to use data to identify and respond to student needs and supports schools in applying these methods
Guides schools in implementing school wide positive behavior programming and SEL programming
Works with school staff to identify areas of need for parent support and training and design of material/sessions to address these needs
Assists school staff with creation of non-academic student and family programming
Assists schools in mapping connections and referral processes between instructional staff and students services staff, as well as within the student services team
Guides school in mapping processes to identify student barriers to learning and connect students/families to appropriate services and resources
Works collaboratively with Accel National team members on program creation, implementation, and measurement
Support process development and training for 504 plans
Skills/Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Education or Social Services
5+ years of experience in the K-12 educational setting
2+ years of experience in an online school setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products, particularly creation and management of spreadsheets
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and exhibit sound judgment while maintaining that confidentiality
Demonstrates a reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic
Ability to manage difficult or emotional client situations
Ability to make sound judgments after all available information has been gathered or communicated
Demonstrates a mature attitude and insight into matters affecting department, self and / or company welfare
Demonstrated leadership and management ability
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks to meet deadlines consistently
Customer service oriented
Ability to learn new technologies and acquire new skills through independent study, professional training, and from more senior team members
Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
