Reports To: Assistant Vice President Underwriting
Your Role: As an Underwriter you will underwrite auto credit applications according to Prestige’s policies and procedures. You will assess risk quickly while making quality credit decisions while providing outstanding customer service to our customers and dealerships.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate applicants’ employment, residence, debt, and income
Verify information submitted on credit applications
Analyze and decision credit applications
Follow up on approvals with dealerships
Discuss credit terms with dealership representatives to resolve rate, advance, terms and other applicable information
Build and maintain relationships with dealerships
Maintain a strong knowledge of Prestige’s origination’s policy
Protect the legal, financial and moral well-being of the company
Other tasks assigned by management
Proficiencies:
Maintains relationships across a variety of functions and locations
Builds rapport in an open, friendly, and accepting way
Relies on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment when making decisions
Readily takes action on challenges, without unnecessary planning
Persists in accomplishing objectives despites obstacles and setbacks
Reflects on activities and impact on others
Consistently at work and on time and positively responds to direction
Qualifications:
Capability to interpret and understand credit bureaus
Solid understanding of credit profiles, reading credit history and assessing credit risk
Can communicate quickly, effectively, and accurately through incoming and outgoing calls and email while notating accounts
Proficient typing skills
Effective time management and ability to multi-task
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to utilize office equipment and computers
Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
High school graduate or comparable
Physical Requirements:
Ability to remain stationary for continuous periods of time. Constantly operate a computer and phone. Frequently communicates with customers, coworkers, and managers about accounts. Able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
