Position : URBN Payroll Manager
Job Description : Overview
The Payroll Manager will be responsible for all aspects of Payroll Processing for 23,000 employees in North America. The role will focus on enhancing current processes to support growth of the company and manage the day-to-day payroll functions. This person will be accountable for timely and accurate pay to all URBN employees.
Responsibilities
Lead the Payroll process for all employees in 45 US states and 6 Canadian Provinces.
Responsible for balancing payroll runs, coordinating federal, state, provincial and local tax with payroll tax services, processing wage attachments and ensuring the accuracy of all data in the payroll process.
Monitor notices from third-party service provider related to HR/Payroll data issues requiring resolution. Respond to payroll tax notices from Federal, State and Local agencies.
Administer Year-End process with W2s, T4s, RL1s, and tax adjustments.
Ensure the processing of hires, transfers, promotions and terminations is accurate and timely.
Responsible for providing Payroll system support, standard reporting and functional system support.
Evaluate new system capabilities and features and assess opportunities for process improvement
Lead, coach and develop payroll team members.
Ensure company policies and procedures to all employees and enforce company standards.
Qualifications
7 years+ of relevant experience
Multi-state payroll and tax reporting experience.
Canada payroll and tax processing preferred.
Knowledge of Common Pay Master preferred.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).
Extensive knowledge of the payroll function and familiarity with UKG HR/Payroll systems preferred.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and provincial wage and hour laws.
Knowledge of payroll tax and compliance, reporting, and audits.
Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and reporting skills
Excellent leadership, team building, communication, and organizational skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree Required or related experience.
