Job Description : This position exists in the City of Schenectady and involves responsibility for the administration and enforcement of the municipal zoning ordinance and other applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, codes, rules and regulations related to the use, development and construction of land, property, and buildings within the municipality. The incumbent investigates and answers complaints, determinations of violations, and processing of applications for zoning change. The incumbent in this position performs field and office work in connection with the enforcement of the city’s zoning ordinance. The work is performed under the direction of the Chief Building Inspector with leeway allowed for exercising independent judgment in carrying out details of the work.
