Position : ALASKA – Adventure Park Obstacle Course Attendant
Job Description : Position Summary:Icy Strait Point Guides provide a leadership role as well as interpretation and narration for guests departing on Excursions. Guides will be cross trained to lead all tours associated with Icy Strait Point and may be required to switch excursion assignment schedule if necessary.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, ProfitableDuties & Responsibilities specific to the Adventure Parko Daily opening and closing of the courseo Daily equipment and course inspectionso Equip clients with gear and monitor for necessary adjustments throughout their climbo Lead a safety briefing and demonstrationo Enforce all rules and regulations for the Adventure Parko Monitor participants on the courseso Verbally and physically assist participants on courseso Handle at-height rescue situationso Park clean up and site maintenanceProvide guests with information about the scenery, wildlife, history, culture and geography.Participate in all required trainings and safety meetingsMaintain a current First Aid/CPR certificationOther duties as assignedRequirements:Adequate knowledge or willingness to learn about Tlingit cultureMust be able to learn a Tlingit IntroductionKnowledge of the local area (marine life, plants, animals, birds)Must have good verbal communication; patient and able to lead groups of kids as well as adultsStrong commitment to SafetyCapable of moderate physical activity including standing, walking, reaching climbing, and lifting weight in excess of 40lbs; able to visually identify safety hazardsAbility to learn, retain and present excursion information to guests in an accurate manner.Promote other ISP venues, distribute ISP literature and/or sell ISP merchandiseThis is a safety sensitive position that is subject to drug testingIcy Strait Point is a Native-owned and operated enterprise and offers Native Preference under P.L.93-638.Applicants must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.Job Types: Full-time, TemporaryPay: From $16.00 per hourBenefits:Employee discountSchedule:10 hour shift8 hour shiftWeekend availabilitySupplemental Pay:Bonus paySigning bonusCOVID-19 considerations:Vaccination requiredAbility to commute/relocate:Hoonah, AK: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: One location
