Becoming an Assistant Caseworker at the Ogden Christmas Box House for the Utah Division of Child & Family Services (DCFS) can be a life changing event! Principle Duties
The Christmas Box House in Ogden is looking for qualified candidates to fill their Assistant Caseworker positions for Swing Shift, Graveyard Shift, and Weekends. Assistant Caseworkers help provide a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for children between the ages of 0-20 who are in need of safety and care; and assist professional social staff by providing support with direct client services. Teamwork is key to preserving the health, safety, and well-being of children in custody. They accomplish this by performing the following tasks:
Supervising and providing care for infants, toddlers, and youth in custody.
Maintaining detailed logs for each child in custody.
Transporting children to school, youth activities, and/or visits.
Maintaining cleanliness of the facility such as vacuuming, cooking, and cleaning.
Assisting with inputting data on computerized systems and maintaining case files.
Updating case documentation, such as intake records, investigation summaries, case histories, activity logs, risk assessments, social summaries, service plans, and correspondence.
The Christmas Box House is a 24-hour facility. As shelter staff your schedule is part-time and varies up to a maximum of 28 hours per week, includes some holidays, and fluctuates based on child population.

Differential pay offered for working swing shift, graveyard shift, weekends, and holidays.

Ideal Candidate
The model candidate for this position is someone who:
Is at least 18 years of age.
Has obtained, or will obtain within a few weeks of hire, a High School Diploma or GED.
Is team oriented.
Is adept at dealing with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact, and professionalism.

Supplemental Information
Travel required; you may be required to use your personal vehicle to perform the duties of this position; approved mileage is reimbursable through State Finance.
All DCFS job offers are contingent upon passing a Background Screening Application (BSA).

Physical Requirements –
Typically, you will sit comfortably to perform the work; however, you may do some walking; standing; bending; carry light items; or drive an automobile, etc.

Working Conditions –
You will be exposed to risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
