Job Description : Position Description: Funeral Home BookkeeperWe are currently seeking a Bookkeeper to join our Bergen County Funeral HomeThe Bookkeeper will be responsible for providing a timely, high-quality and accurate work product. The Bookkeeper will also be expected to demonstrate professionalism at all times to deliver performance excellence as an important member of our team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Essential Duties Maintain general ledgers including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash receipts, cash disbursements, journal entries, month-end and year end close, utilizing existing QuickBooks softwareMaintenance of entries made by staff to industry specific funeral arrangement softwareBank reconciliations.Payroll service reporting and reporting to employee benefit plan administrators.Communication with outside CPA firm as necessary.Qualifications Some level of accounting education is a plus.3+ years experience in a bookkeeping role.Part-time schedule. Projected to be a 4 day (Monday – Thursday) 20 hour week at the outset.Strong ability to work independently with minimal direction while exercising good judgment/decision making.Ability to demonstrate professionalism at all times.Exceptional interpersonal skills and pleasant, positive demeanor.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Good working experience with QuickBooks and Excel a must.Occasional local travel to satellite locations in northern Bergen County may be required.Health Benefits and 401KJob Type: Part-timePay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Flexible scheduleHealth insurancePhysical Setting:OfficeEducation:Associate (Preferred)Experience:Bookkeeping: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: Multiple Locations
