The purpose of the Collections Representative is as follows:
Contact customers with outstanding balances by telephone in a professional, sensitive, and understanding manner
You will be responsible for researching discrepancies, calculating prorated balances, and overcoming obstacles/objections for payment
Process payments and record detailed payment arrangements
Process and review account adjustments
Perform other assigned duties necessary to support the Collections Department
Skills and Qualifications
High School Diploma (or GED) required, college degree a plus
Collections or relevant customer facing experience (minimum 1 year)
Strong telephone communication/verbal negotiation skills with ability to communicate in a professional, positive manner
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team
Ability to set goals, meet deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
