Job Description : The Communications and Social Media Manager shapes and informs the public perception of relevant FCH Enterprises entities through both earned media and social media channels. The individual in the Communications and Social Media Manager is also a key member of the larger integrated marketing communications team and is expected to lead various marketing campaigns, in addition to performing traditional public relations and community management responsibilities.COMMUNICATION & SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTIONEssential FunctionsThe essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to:Designs earned media and social media strategies and processes to meet corporate objectives within budget requirementsDetermines objectives and success metrics for relevant tactics and assigned campaigns, and monitors progress towards goalsManages all media relations, influencer relations, and community affairs activities to achieve marketing goals and business objectivesManages all social media activity including social media marketing, social customer care, and social crisis managementIn partnership with various other departments, designs and manages internal communications vehiclesCreates, curates, or procures content for distribution in any media format (photos, video, audio, graphics, etc.)Acts as a corporate spokesperson when other corporate spokespersons are not availableIn partnership with Director, Digital Strategies, will ensure paid social strategies are integrated into larger e-commerce initiatives, as well as assist with earned media placement in select digital channelsCollaborate with internal teams to deploy integrated marketing campaigns and to ensure brand consistencyProvides analysis of earned media and social media performance, reports on various initiatives and resolves issues as needManages a small team to affect positive business outcomesOther FunctionsOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:GeneralA minimum of four (4) years’ work experience in any public relations, internal communications, journalism, or social media management function for a large organization or set of clients is requiredFour-year college degree in business, technology, communications or related field; however, a minimum of five (5) years of working experience, as defined below, can be substituted for educational requirements.Availability to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with occasional work outside normal hours as neededThis position is eligible for remote workDesired Skills & AttributesExperience in one or more of the following areas: media relations, social media management, internal communications, crisis management, influencer relations, community affairs, customer service, content marketing, and data analysisHands on experience with a social media management systemExperience writing press releases, distributing press releases, and pitching storiesExceptional communication skills (oral and written)Exceptional interpersonal skillsSelf-development skills (desire and ability to learn)Cool and collected in stressful situationsAction-oriented (exercising initiative to follow-up and follow through)Ability to work under minimal supervision and/ or in a teamAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlinesPhysical AbilityMust be able to lift up to 10 poundsSitting most of the dayReaching/bending frequentlyGood speech and hearing necessary for communicating within the marketing department, to other employees, managers and the public, talking on the telephone, and when representing Zippy’s or other corporate brands at events/functions.Sight for performing computer workMental AbilityGood decision-making skills (uses independent judgment)Good assessment skillsPlanning/organizational skills (ability to set long-term or short-term goals, measures, time frames, and coordinate multiple tasks/activities, prioritize)Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language requiredEnvironmental ConditionsAir-conditioned, office environmentPRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:COVID-19 Vaccination Record CardCandidates for employment with the company will be required to show proof of at least one vaccination dose and will be required to complete their initial shots within 28 days of employment. If they are eligible for a booster and haven’t yet taken it, they must do so within 35 days of employment.
