With roots dating to 1927, the PUD provides sustainable, reliable, and high-quality water and electric services to over 13,000 electric customers and over 12,500 water customers in greater Truckee, a service area of 45.5 square miles.About the PositionUnder direction of Public Information and Strategic Affairs Director, develops and implements internal and external communication and outreach programs in support of District initiatives and goals. Serves as a resource on a variety of communications matters including employee engagement, customer relations, community and stakeholder outreach, and government affairs. This position is required to perform with limited direct supervision and to communicate at a professional level with District management, other department staff, the Board of Directors, and the community.Minimum Qualifications: Any combination equivalent to education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, environmental sciences or related field.Experience: Two years of professional experience in fields of public information, communications, public policy, and/or electric and water utilities. Excellent verbal and writing skills & public speaking experience.
