Job Description : Role: Data Associate
The Team: SPGMI Market Data content team validates vendor driven Pricing, Index and Corporate actions data using search tools, press releases, company websites, stock exchange websites and regulatory filings with a view to provide in-depth, accurate and timely data that supports technical analysis of market participants by providing important inputs necessary for computation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including metrics like index total return, securities total return, dividend yields, market capitalization, stock volatility etc.
The Impact: This role will influence the Market Data that is used by our customers such as Portfolio Manager, Investment Managers etc. This position is an excellent stepping stone to understand compustat process, that will allow you to gain a comprehensive understanding of product workflow, as well as apply this knowledge in the execution of daily tasks. The successful candidate will work towards improving data quality and achieving KPIs/SLAs for their content sets.

Responsibilities:
Understanding Compustat data structures and ensuring data flow across products is seamless.
Translate business requirements into user stories and grooming the scrum teams.
Doing groundwork in gathering comprehensive business requirements to ensure there is least discovery of unknows during execution stage.
Responsible for arriving at solutions to queries received around collection methodologies and client tasks.
Converting raw complex data into easy to understand and comprehendible information through data visualization.
Analyze and uncover inconsistencies in large amount of data (both in-house as well as supplied by third-party providers) by utilizing SQL knowledge and propose solutions to address them in S&P global products.
Manage data/content management projects or initiatives important to the business.
Identify/drive lean and automation projects (Robotics, AI etc).
Identify individual strengths to appropriately delegate work amongst the team.
Owning up the Knowledge building with-in the content group & working on it to ensure seamless operations
What we’re looking for:Functional and Business Knowledge:
Should have a good understanding of Market Data Content like various types of corporate actions and their impact on entities, deep knowledge on Stock Markets and terminology.
Good oral and written communication skills
Thorough knowledge of business and data/content management objectives.
Possesses strong analytical skills and out of box thinking.
Problem Solving:
Solve a variety of problems within their operational setting.
Provide solutions based on best practices and existing precedents.
Coordinate and manage projects from start to finish.
Basic Qualifications:
Strong Communication and leadership skills to effectively communicate across several levels of the organization and in cross-culture
Strong organization skills, attention to detail is critical; able to work on concurrent projects
Proven ability to work with minimal direction, maintain focus while working with routine tasks.
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment in task force situations
Flexible with timings and willingness to go the extra mile
Sound knowledge of SQL & advanced MS Office.
Preferred Educational Qualifications:
PG degree in commerce or business administration/management.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 46.2 – $95.9k. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
