We are seeking motivated and accomplished self-starters and effective team players to join our growing Hawai‘i operations as Field Technicians/Entry-level Staff to perform environmental compliance inspections and other field tasks under moderate supervision. This position entails working outside of the office setting 50% of the time. This is a full-time position based out of either our Maui or* Honolulu* office.DUTIES/RESPONSIBITIESThe successful candidate will be able to, without direct supervision:Perform site reconnaissance to observe existing conditions with respect to various environmental regulations and identify important site features.Perform detailed site/facility inspections to assess compliance with various environmental regulations or construction plans/permits. Prepare detailed notes and take photographs to document the procedures used and observations made during inspections or other field activities.Prepare thorough and timely written field reports and follow up as needed with facility personnel or contractors to track compliance corrective actions.Coordinate scheduling with client and facility personnel and contractors.Adhere to project Health and Safety Plans. Participate in site safety briefings and audits by contractors or Haley & Aldrich personnel.Coordinate with internal Haley & Aldrich team members and participate constructively in project team meetings.Ideally, the successful candidate would also be able to undergo 40-hour HAZWOPER training and perform contaminated media (soil/sediment, groundwater and surface water) sampling.SKILLS/EXPERIENCEMinimum of an Associate degree in Environmental Science or Occupational Health or 5 years of relevant experienceBachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field is desired1 or more years of related field experience is desiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong Microsoft Office skillsMust possess a valid driver’s licenseMust have a reliable form of transportationMust be able to lift and transport 50 lbs. unassistedAvailability for inter-island travel on short notice is required10-hour OSHA Construction or 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER training is a plusConstruction BMP training is a plusAbility to assume temporary U.S. mainland or remote assignments as needed is desiredMust comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company CharterMust comply with company and client Health & Safety protocols, including proof of Covid-19 vaccination and/or documentation for a vaccine waiver (client required)Job Type: Full-time
