PURPOSE

Incumbent will provide excellent customer service while staffing events at the Elizabeth Peratrovich Hall (EPH). Ensure EPH is set up according to established requirements/standards. This position involves a high degree of exposure, working with staff and visitors, including executive management and other high-profile figures. The Event Specialist may supervise and provide continuing training for up to two full-time employees.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports To: Social Enterprise Manager
Supervises: up to 2 FTE

Liaison To: N/A

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist with preliminary planning and wrap-up of events
Assist with initial walk-through with potential customers
Facilitate set-up of space and A/V system
Perform all necessary pre-event checks
Assist with event break-down and clean up
Test and resolve equipment issues
Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality
Work with computer-controlled lighting equipment
Ensure all equipment is properly stored
Meet or exceeded the standard and quality of service for the industry
Understand and deliver to the specific requirements of the customers
Maintain the proper function of all service tools and equipment, including microphones, speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound, and mixing boards
Perform inspections and keep complete, accurate records of equipment condition
Manage inventory and reordering supplies
Respond to client inquiries and fulfilling their requests
Keep work area neat and clean
Safely Operate all tools and equipment
Report any safety issues immediately to management
Establish staff schedule

Responsible for training and supervising new employees
Establish relationships with internal departments

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Attention to detail with excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including walking, crouching, bending, and standing for extended periods
Able and available to work weekends and/or holidays
Ability to comply with all Tribal policies
Team player and positive attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform duties without direct supervision

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

Associates Degree in related field
2 years of related experience
Substitution:

High School Diploma or GED
4 years of related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

One-year supervisory experience
Understanding of A/V components and operations
Experience with lighting equipment
Experience in live music or theater
Experience with networking, IP and wi-fi maintenance, installation, or professional use

UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS

The majority of work is performed in a professional event space setting and the physical demand require routine walking, standing, bending, and crouching for extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75 lbs.
