Job Description : GetSetUp is the largest and fastest-growing online community of older adults who want to learn, connect and do wonderful things. In the 19 months since our founding, we have grown to more than 4 million members around the world. The platform offers live classes taught by peers who are experts in their field, social hours hosted by community members, and special events with speakers who directly address areas of interest to older adults. Classes are taught in English, Spanish, Hindi, and Mandarin. We’ve grown to over 150 employees spread across the world with core teams in the U.S., Australia, India, and more sites coming soon.

The TA role is vital to the smooth operation of the most important aspect of GetSetUp: the classes we offer to older adults. You will help our guides and interest group leaders run enriching and interesting classes, facilitate meaningful conversations, and problem solve issues facing our learners.
The ideal candidate will have experience in continuing education and interacting with older adults. Current or retired teachers, teaching assistants, librarians, or those with classroom/educational experience at any level are encouraged to apply. This position will require extensive use of technology-as all classes are taught online-however, this is not a purely technical position. A positive attitude, commitment to GetSetUp’s mission, and an outgoing personality are the most important traits.
GetSetUp is growing rapidly, so we are looking for someone who can pick up on new systems quickly, thrive in ambiguity, and enjoy creating relationships with who we serve. This role will be cross-trained in all Support Team responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Assist guides and interest group leaders run enjoyable and interactive classes for older adults
Facilitate authentic conversations in the GetSetUp Lounge
Run class replays, guiding learners and answering their questions about the material
Draft and share class notes with learners
Establish productive working relationships with guides, interest groups, and learners
Become proficient in all Support Team responsibilities
Mark attendance for all learners in class
Create Support tickets for Learners who need additional help
Manage the guide dashboard for new guides and help them launch and end classes
Create collateral during class for the marketing team
Create response templates based on most frequently asked questions
Addressing technical queries from learners during class
Work with the scheduling team to assign a team of TA interns to different guides/classes
About You
1-3 years experience in support, teaching, or as a teaching assistant
Outgoing, eager to meaningfully engage with older adults
Strong writing skills
Pick up new systems and technology quickly
Courteous, self-motivated and detail-oriented
