Vornado’s IT group is seeking a Help Desk Manager to work in Paramus. The Help Desk Manager will manage a team of six support personnel who provide support for the majority of our 800+ end user community. Provide superior support of both local and remote locations via remote access tools, divisional IT resources, and external consultants. Direct both day-to-day and long-term projects based on emerging technology and enterprise need. Evaluate new information systems products or services and suggests changes to existing products or services to better aide the end user.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction in delivering best in class support via phone/email on-site visit
Senior level resource for escalating/directing support
Follow up with senior level executives regarding reported incidents
Improve current business processes in order to exceed end-user expectations
Document current processes for ticketing / related support
“Hands-on” manager assisting your team in their day-to-day operations when so required
Work closely with our Network, Application, and Divisional IT groups in providing overall IT support
Provide technical guidance to all support groups
Create incident and task reports for management review
Review daily and monthly user reports to comply with yearly audit
Job Qualifications:
Superior inter-personal, organization and communication skills (written & verbal)
BMC Remedyforce ticketing application a definite plus. Proficiency with similar help desk applications a must
Utilization MS Project for large-scale projects
Knowledge of Altiris asset management system a definite plus. Proficiency with similar product a must
Must be able to provide timely updates and progress to senior IT management
Knowledge of software deployment applications and related procedures a must
Must be able to work both independently and as a team member
Education/Experience:
Degree in related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years in a support related management environment
Vornado Realty Trust is not offering relocation expenses for this location.
