Description:The International Business Development Lead will coordinate Lockheed Martin’s (LM’s) strategic and tactical new business initiatives related to the Aegis Weapon System in multiple countries. This customer-facing professional will act as the single LM point of contact for ship- and shore-based business development within specific new and existing international Aegis markets, including cases in which Aegis is offered together with the LM Solid State Radar (LM SSR) or other products.

In doing so, the successful candidate will:

Act as our external customers’ advocate within LMBuild and maintain trusting and productive relationships with customers, influencers and key opinion leaders – including but not limited to foreign governments, United States Government and industry partnersDevelop a deep knowledge of customer desires, and shape associated requirements toward Lockheed Martin solutionsCurate a pipeline of new business opportunities, to include qualification, pursuit and re-assessment on an ongoing basisProvide domain expertise through a current understanding of national geopolitical defense posture, armed services, acquisition organizations, budgets and proceduresLead cross-functional capture teams in accordance with LM best practicesCollaborate with RMS-IWSS Market Segments and various support functions to develop appropriate strategy, orders and investment plans and translate them to actionable initiativesGuide international consultant activity to advance LM’s business goalsManage new business resources efficiently and effectivelyInterface regularly across the LM enterprise to achieve business goals – including but not limited to other RMS Lines of Business, RMS International Business Development (RMS IBD), other LM Business Areas, LM Government Affairs (LMGA), LM Global Business Development (LMGBD) and the Corporate Engineering and Technology Office (CETO)Actively support applicable cross-Business Area campaignsBe value-add to the team – collaborate with other international business development staff members to share and apply best practices and lessons learnedProvide timely and high quality staff work, including but not limited to presentations, white papers, activity reports, meeting notes, call plans and trade show support
Primary desired locations for this position are Moorestown, NJ and Washington D.C., but flexible to consider alternate locations in close proximity.

Current work arrangement includes part-time telework and travel as needed (~40-60%).
Basic Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in business development, program management, government relations or technical/engineering, or equivalent experience within GovernmentSuperior knowledge of potential customers and demonstrated customer relations skillsExperience working within foreign defense procurement ecosystemUnderstanding of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) acquisition paths, and an ability to operate in either environment or a hybrid of bothCapable of obtaining a security clearance
Desired Skills:
Knowledge of the Aegis and SPY-7 architectures, functionalities and capabilitiesPrior experience leading strategic pursuits and keep sold activities. Extensive understanding of Lockheed Martin win plan, capture process, and business development practices.
Experience supporting customer contact tracking, decision mapping, competitive intelligence and customer assessments.Direct experience with US Navy (PEO IWS, NIPO, NSWC) and MDA organizationsLeadership experienceMBA or Master’s degree preferredKnowledge of Lockheed Martin’s products and servicesExperience working with LM’s consultants’ and international partnersFamiliarity with ITAR regulations and associated export control processesWillingness to understand and adjust to foreign business cultures as appropriateExcellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to clearly articulate strategies at multiple levels of business and government. Experience organizing and presenting data to senior/executive management.Ability to thrive in a non-routine work environment and adapt well to changing conditionsAvailability to support non-standard meeting and travel requirements dictated by time zone differences and physical distancesA high degree of flexibility and the ability to travel
