About the Job
This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.
This Food Manufacturing Line Production Operator position will be based at our Seattle, WA manufacturing facility and be a part of the Teamsters Local Union #117. We are currently hiring for all shifts: Day, Swing, and Graveyard.
Day shift (6am- 2:30pm), Swing Shift (2-10:30pm) and Graveyard Shift (10pm-6:30am)
What Does It Take to be a Line Production Operator at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
Able to repeatedly move or lift up to 50+ lbs throughout a regular shift
Able to lift; fill; push; pull; walk; stand; crouch; reach overhead; and climb stairs
Read written formulas, instructions, scale read-outs, machine buttons, and safety precautions.
Read instructions and observe reactions of materials
Perform basic mathematical calculations
Read, write, and comprehend the English language
Be an effective member of a team
What You’ll Do as a Line Production Operator
Keeps a “safety first” mentality
Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
Ensures that specific instructions and processes are followed for each customer or product
Completes finished goods in an efficient and effective manner to ensure continuous production on lines (typical products are packaged in pouches, pails, bag-in-a-box, totes and super totes)
Records product information
Performs regular metal detection
Utilizes proper stacking and labelling techniques
Properly sanitizes equipment
Ensures proper product identification and labelling
Operates hand-held bar code scanner to record the amount of raw materials used
Complete necessary paperwork and records
Monitors the process for desired quality and quantity
Understands the importance of Food Safety around FSMA and HACCP guidelines
Demonstrates the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and supports the Circle of Excellence.

Work Environment
Temperature fluctuates with the season – colder during the winter/warmer during the summer
Working around heavy machinery – Hearing protection required in production area
