Job Description : Non-Emergency East Driver – (La Junta, Las Animas, Lamar, Ordway, Rocky Ford Area)
Job Summary:
It is the duty of our drivers at MedRide, LLC to be compassionate, caring, reliable and responsible individuals. Our drivers are required getting clients with mobility challenges to their destinations safely and on time.
Job Responsibilities:
Show up to work in a timely manner.
Take driving assignments from dispatcher for client trips.
Must pick up clients at the scheduled time from their home or other facilities.
Will provide door to door service when noted on trip record.
Only provide physical Aid support or assistance and oral directions to clients as needed.
Assist clients as they get into and out of the vehicle. Never leave clients alone if vehicle.
Document and complete daily trip logs that includes data for every member scheduled for transportation.
Report back to the dispatcher when clients have been dropped off at their destination.
Communicate any traffic delays on route back to dispatcher.
Make notes of incidents or accidents and report those to the dispatcher.
Operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
Adhere to company policies and protocol.
Must adhere to all federal, state and agency rules regarding HIPAA Requirements.
Qualifications
Must have previous customer service experience with a good track record of assisting customers in a thoughtful, caring, and timely manner.
Show Empathy, Compassion and Customer Service
Must be passionate about helping people.
Be at least 26 years of age.
Must possess a valid Driving License (for at least 2 years)
Have a clean driving record with no more than 4 points removed from license.
Have experience working with a smartphone and GPS apps (google maps).
Have flexibility in your schedule: Monday – Saturday with availability to work 10-15 hour days.
Education
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
At least two (2) years related experience and execution of similar duties in non-emergency medical transport is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Know how to keep a level head in a busy environment.
Must be passionate about helping people.
Great communication skills
A good working knowledge of the Otero County area a plus.
First Aid/CPR certification a plus but not required.
Additional Notes
For this position, the driver will be provided a company vehicle, company cellular phone, and safety equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting in vehicle.
Ability to perform considerable reaching stooping and bending.
Hearing and vision abilities with normal range to drive safely and to observe and communicate with clients.
Regular exposure to injuries and illness
Exposure to a variety of weather conditions
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Pay: $15.00-16.00 per hour
Shift: Monday – Saturday with availability to work 10-15 hour days.
Location: Servicing Eastern Colorado: La Junta, Las Animas, Lamar, Ordway, and Rocky Ford Area
